NEGATIVE SPACE

Silence Between The Lines

May 1 – June 1, 2025

Open House May 3, 1 – 4 PM

In a world saturated with noise and distractions, Negative Space painting explores the profound beauty of absence through negative space painting. Using multimedia materials, I aim to reveal the quiet stories that emerge when forms are defined not by what is present, but by what is left behind.

Using the Negative Space discipline, it is more than a compositional tool—it is a metaphor for the unseen, the unspoken, and the overlooked. By stripping away unnecessary details and focusing on the voids, I invite viewers to reconsider how we define presence and importance. What is omitted becomes as significant as what is expressed, creating a dialogue between the tangible and the intangible. Stop in and take a moment to relax and share this journey of discovery.

Please join us at Artworks@7th Gallery on May 3, from 1 - 4, for our opening reception. Mingle with the artists and enjoy both art and light refreshments. Bring your friends and family. Hope to see you there!

ArtWorks@7th is located at 8905 Chesapeake Avenue (near 2nd street) in North Beach, Maryland. Our summer hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

There exists a delicate balance to our world. Art, I believe, is not merely an element of this balance but a vital force that maintains it. Creativity stands as a direct counterforce to destruction and negativity, illuminating paths forward when darkness threatens to engulf.

As artists, we often fulfill purposes beyond our full comprehension. My own creative journey emerged organically from life experiences that pulled me toward expression through visual art—a medium that called to me with unmistakable clarity.

My creative process springs from the fertile ground of curiosity, is nurtured by dreams, and blossoms through moments of inspiration. With each piece, I learn to embrace my role in contributing to life's delicate equilibrium, hoping to leave a lasting impression on those who encounter my work.

I am largely self-taught, embracing the humility of learning through trial and error, research, and the generous knowledge shared through online communities. Working from a modest studio space in my home, I create purely from my love of art and profound respect for the artists whose work surrounds and inspires me.

My work has been exhibited at Annmarie Gardens, Maryland Art Place, DC Arts Center, Prince Frederick Library, and Angel's Watch Shelter through Catholic Charities. I am a cohort member at Artworks @ 7th in North Beach Maryland and recently joined as a member at CalvArt Gallery. I've also been honored to create commissioned pieces for both non-profit organizations and private collectors.

Yet beyond these achievements, what matters most is the journey itself—this remarkable chapter of creative exploration that I continue to embrace with gratitude and wonder.

Thank you for engaging with my work and the vision it represents.
